- Technical lead of controls system on assigned projects.
- Lead definition and implementation of kinematics and control algorithms which translate user input into desired movement of surgical instruments.
- Work closely with clinical, human factors, and systems engineering teams to identify stakeholder needs related to control, determine need for improvement, and develop means to assess overall performance of the control system.
- Translate models of kinematics and control algorithms into the design at a mechanical, electrical, and software level.
- Collaborate with software teams to define shared interfaces for use in embedded software applications.
- Collaborate with electrical engineers to tune motor controllers based on desired performance specifications.
- Collaborate with mechanical engineers to define calibration procedures for surgical instruments.
- Assist with the development of methods, fixtures, and protocols for characterizing and verifying the functionality and performance of system motion control.
- Manage controls software deliverables, ensuring proper scope, resource allocation, planning, and scheduling.
- Develop new intellectual property related to robotic feedback, control, and monitoring of system-driven motion.
- Reviews and improves the development processes, ensuring best engineering practices and compliance to IEC standards and quality management system.
- Provides coaching, mentorship, and development needs to individual team members.
◈ 경력 요건
- Proven expertise in robotics, including forward and inverse kinematics, joint modeling, and control theory.
- Experience with implementation of control algorithms in software.
- Experience with MATLAB and relevant toolkits and/or other multiphysics modeling tool.
- Ability to concisely communicate status, needs, forecasts, risks and timelines effectively to executive team and all levels of
the organization (one-on-one and large groups).
- Experience with automated unit verification.
- Demonstrated ability to manage teams on complex medical devices.
- Knowledge of FDA Medical device software life cycle processes, IEC 62304 and EU Regulations / Standards within Medical Devices.
- Must understand the complexity of the business and be able to navigate and communicate effectively within a matrix structure at the site and global level.
- Has experience in working in high performance organizations and has a proven track record of developing high performing teams and fostering a positive culture with a high degree of integrity and professionalism.
- Must be a detail and goal orientated, self-motivated individual with the ability to multi-task
- Ability to travel internationally.
- Great interpersonal skills and works well across the matrix with cross-functional teams in Quality, Regulatory, Operations and Marketing, among others.
- Fluent in English, including excellent technical writing skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field is required. An advanced degree with an emphasis in controls or related field is preferred.
- Minimum 15 years of control system development.
- Experience in a regulated environment.
- Experience in robotics preferred, but not required.
- Experience in leading and managing multiple complex projects.
